these guys have an immense collection of crazy trippy beautiful stuff and kinda same amount of it remains offstage, wish we will hear it sometime

btw maybe you know artists with same or similar style and vibe?

Tycho's sound reminds me a bit of them, check out Past is Prologue

Christ.
He was some sort of member of BoC for a moment as well, but tons of the stuff he released himself sounds just like them.

Deadmau5 released one of the best Boards of Canada-esque tracks.

Came here to post this. Also picrel came out the same year as Boc Maxima and was also self-released.

Probably the closest you'll get though, there's really nothing quite the same as BoC. I'd recommend Phoenecia for a lesser known duo, they have a unique sound all their own though, not quite the same but its great ambient idm.

PCA is boring as AF
would be better if they had (better) percussion
>>127887017
>Boc Maxima
Their highest masterpiece, for my money
>>
get old tunes vol 1 and 2 and random 35 tracks tape, I dismissed them for a while because it's so fragmentary but they're all really great
try OPN's Rifts (ep compilation)
tycho doesn't even come close IMO though you can hear he really loves them
it's more basic happy go lucky but try Lone's Emerald Fantasy Tracks too
>>
Arovane - Tides is also very nice
>>
>>127887017
thanks that christ. track is really nice, didn't know about the boc association
there's a bunch of Seefeel-adjacent stuff that sounds kinda similar, Locust - Natural Composite especially
>>
>>127896937
Yeah, along with all the saturated synths and nostalgic melodies, the percussion was a big part of BoC's sound for sure, Chinook being a great example, and some of the tracks on Trans Canada Highway like Skyliner. Feel like that's one aspect alot of the imitators don't capture as well.
>>127896937
Agreed. Including some tracks from the demos on Boc Maxima was a great move, but unfortunately it was at the cost of sacrificing some of the length, kind of making them more of interludes, but having those on an official release still puts it pretty high up.
