Why do popstars who dedicate their lives to appealing to the male fantasy NEVER manage to actually gain a male audience, not even gooners?

>NEVER
proof?

No pop star, even the most hyper-sexualized, wants to primarily appeal to a male demographic. Women have always been and always will be their majority audience. That said, I would dispute your assertion that pop girls with a skimpier aesthetic don't attract MORE male listeners than those without.
>>
They appear sexy for the men who forge their career, you idiot. Its not for the fans, its for the producers, the engineers, the writers, etc.

Also, the PRODUCERS also forge their sexy image.

>appealing to the male fantasy
Clearly that isn't what is happening if they only have female fans.
>>
Because male attention drives success. Doesnt mean males have to attend to concerts for them to be successful.

the problem is the music business doesnt understand how to market women to men, yes, sex sells, but men also want someone we can talk to, someone with depth. Yes we are going to fap to katy perry or sabrina carpenter, no we arent going to like or buy their music.

The type of girl men, men on mu like are girls like bjork, grimes, Caroline Polachek. The musical versions of the manic pixie dream girl, the art girl you want to fuck, but also want to hold their hand...... but also their music is okay or good

the weird girl you know, like that one from the breakfast club
>>
so wait, the gooners who make all the Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter threads arent listening to Olivia Rodrigo or Sabrina Carpenter?
>>
I WANNA SABRINA OLIVIA'S CARPENTER

It appeals to the female fantasy of being desirable
>>
>>127894562
They do have male fanbase but they’re mostly gay twinks.

They aren't appealing to the male fantasy. They're appealing to the female fantasy of controlling the male fantasy.

The IT factor is actually pretty hard to define. Some things don't hurt, like a certain amount of exhibitionism and approachability. Musical intelligence, a listenable voice, the ability to dance and perform on stage are quite a rare combination. If a person has all that stuff the public doesn't care if they look a little like a horse, and it is seen as affirming that they take most of their clothes off and wiggle around.

Speak for yourself, faggot.

I'd actually argue that it's probably better (from a marketing perspective) for a popstar to look average or even less attractive because it sells the idea that the products and apparel she dolls herself up with are whats making her desirable. Which in turn may lead to arguments among women that lead to a desirable outcome for business
>"she's amazing, she's everything, everyone loves her! I want to be like her so I will buy everything she does!"
vs
>"she's not even that hot! she's a chubby horseface drenched in makeup running around half naked. I cant believe that all men are such dogs that they cant see it! In fact, I could probably do so much better than her and run my circle/school/city/etc. if I had those same things!"

dividends go brrr

it's deeper than the marketing, the girl next door trope is because people want to see themselves in their pop stars. girls have to want to be you.
>>
Women these days claim they dress sexually for themselves and other women.
>>
>>127894562
OP, if you ever spoke to women you would have your answer. Wpop act slutty and then their female audience lives vicariously through that, it makes them feel like hot girls.
>>
>>127894562
If you get the male audience by acting like a slut then you will lose them to the next young hot slut who is sluttier/hooter/has bigger tits etc. than you.

This is not an audience which is loyal.

If you can sell men on something else and have being hot as a bonus that might work. But it requires effort and talent. It is much easier to be slutty.
