Trent Reznor is talented and made some classic music. This band could never.

but the sleep token guy is not that great of a musician despite the aesthetic. it's ghost for zoomers but ghost makes passable if not paint-by-numbers music, sleep token guy is not that good at heavy music or pop/rnb.

there are far better songwriters in his "mall edgy octane.fm" scene (bring me the horizon, bad omens, thornhill, spiritbox, poppy), listeners that want more "legit cred" will go to bands like loathe or knocked loose or just actual metal, actual metalheads will listen to VOLA or Tesseract or some shit, people that like darker RNB/pop music have plenty of actual musicians to choose from. there are already tons of knockoff sleep token-style acts that arguably do his shtick better than he does (holywatr, President. amira elfeky, jutes, etc)

trent reznor is actually good which is why he has stuck around and done well across genre. in 10 years people will "remember" sleep token the same way they used to remember tokio hotel or orgy or whatever
