Holy shit what in the fucking self fellating bloat is this? I don't wanna say Appetite being good was a fluke, but man I can't imagine this shit having a positive reception. I guess I do see people talk about the singles as classics still. How did people perceive these albums at the time? Did I have wrong expectations or something?
>>127943882Appetite for Destruction is a solid hard rock album and there is an album's worth of good material between these two albums but overall they're nothing extraordinary.
I look both of these the same way I look at Metallica's Load and Reload, the only thing is that UYI 1 & 2 were supposed to be part of Guns N Roses' career peak.crazy to think that both bands hoped on a tour together back in the days, because they are absolutely NOT in the same league, artistically speaking.
>>127943928>there is an album's worth of good material between these two albumsWhich just makes it more unforgettable than that the band had such hubris when they evidently could have delivered one good album.
It should have been one album with the following tracks:Don't Cry (original)Back Off BitchDouble Talkin JiveNovember RainThe GardenComaCivil WarYesterdaysLocomotiveEstrangedYou Could Be MineMy World (extended and bass boosted version)
Afd and lies are the only 2 gnr albums anyone needs to hear
GNR disbanded after Adler left the band
>>127945503G N R Lies is weak as fuck. one of the worst followups im history.
>>127945262either one of the illusions albums are way better than the black album
>>127943882These albums are so weird and have some ridiculously bad tracks but I love both of them. Civil War and Don't Damn Me are my favorites
>>127945523UIY2 is the better one but Black Album still kills it in broad daylight
>>127943882for me i give them a bit more credit, solid b+ albums with a few bangers like estranged and comai think why they have the legacy is; they had 3 great albums, an ep about niggers and faggots, lived the drug fueled life, when you hear 'gnr riot' you have to ask which one?, did a few one off appearances running from the cops in random states at the end, then vanished at their peak to not be heard from for years. shit, izzy is still held up north of la in the near desert as a hermit. what a strange group of fuck ups that had a hint of talent together.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP-hfqsOslE
ChiDem 2000 or bust. Buckethead is a god
>>127945521Crazy and one in a million are peak gnr though. I’d argue that crazy is in fact their sound in its purest form
>>127945554Shits boring desu. And even though like half the tracks on it are mid, I'll still take songs like Coma, Don't Damn Me, Back off Bitch, etc. any day just for the guitar playing alone. Ditto part II.
>>127945521Lies should have included the UYI songs that were written around AFD, instead of just tacking on that shitty faux-live EPThe perfect tracklist for both would be:>LiesBack Off BitchBad ObsessionYou Could Be MineDon't CryUsed To Love HerOne in a MillionMove To The City (re-recorded)Shadow of Your LoveYesterdaysPatience>UYICivil WarDust n BonesLive and Let DiePerfect CrimeLocomotiveYou Ain't The FirstPretty Tied UpDouble Talkin' JiveNovember RainKnockin' On Heaven's Door14 YearsComa
>>127943882Filtered by Axl’s genius
>>127945734the problem with that track listing is that you don't really have a good lead single or a tent-pole song for Lies that will carry it.
>>127943882Axl Rose's voice was always nails on a chalkboard for me, same with AC/DC.
>>127948753Seems like most of the public was?
>>127943882yeah man look it's le GREEK PHILOSOPHER ON THE COVER in le philosopher pose too
nvm i just noticed the big one in the back i take back what i say
>>127945262The tour organisers obviously weren't worried about artistry they were simply putting the two biggest bands in the world at that moment together to make a popular tour
>>127945473>with the following tracks:based>My World (extended and bass boosted version)kek, giga-based
