Everyone who owns their own music publishing rights is that level of rich, with a few exceptions. To buy back your own rights means you had a huge career and were smart enough to realize you were being exploited and so you accumulated enough capital to buy them back.

i know only the very top of kpop stars have money. Some very well-known groups like Loona, barely got paid or sometimes didn't get paid at all.

I know a successful artist with a large fanbase (1mil monthly listeners on spotify and a dedicated fanbase) and they're really not that rich at all and don't own the rights to their own music. Also I know that some other popular musicians are actually completely broke and in debt to their labels as well.

A very small percentage, and basically none of that is from their own success with music. Basically, if you're not Michael Gira or Cameron Winter, you're never getting your own island.
