people seem to think fame = money
it doesn't. look at all the bankrupt rappers and athletes.
how many are actually RICH?

The tippity top for sure. Athletes used to get really fucked because the pro leagues didn't have benefits and retirement/pension type deals for every athlete (so mostly the average ones ended up fucked as they got older and injured). Also, a lot of new money has the problem of being all wide-eyed when they get all that cash, only to spend it on frivolous shit right away. So they're rich at first, but not in the longterm.
>>
Everyone who owns their own music publishing rights is that level of rich, with a few exceptions. To buy back your own rights means you had a huge career and were smart enough to realize you were being exploited and so you accumulated enough capital to buy them back.

Beyonce, Weeknd, Drake, Metallica, Eagles, Madonna

i know only the very top of kpop stars have money. Some very well-known groups like Loona, barely got paid or sometimes didn't get paid at all.

The old school people whose careers were big in the 70s/80s are that rich because they are considered legacy acts now and make loads of money selling out stadiums from people who think they may never get a chance to see them again

I don't think he means they're Bieber-tier, but that they were big in kpop. Which they were.
>>
>>127965953
He probably bought that from "Summer of 69" sales and royalties alone

Good value cuz they actually play their instruments and sing live, unlike Taylor Swift, for example.
The equivalent of buying a painting as opposed to printed AI slop.

terminal TDS, and yes she does sing/play instruments live

I know a successful artist with a large fanbase (1mil monthly listeners on spotify and a dedicated fanbase) and they're really not that rich at all and don't own the rights to their own music. Also I know that some other popular musicians are actually completely broke and in debt to their labels as well.
>>
A very small percentage, and basically none of that is from their own success with music. Basically, if you're not Michael Gira or Cameron Winter, you're never getting your own island.
>>
>>127967019
shut the fuck up anon, loona was absolutely nugu as fuck and didn't even make to the end of their contracts with the group imploding
>>
>>127966868
These kpop artists are funded by Rothschild family btw

>Summer of 69
I fucking despise that song. Honestly it's my version of "neighbor keeps blasting bon jovi" so I tried blasting my own music but then he turned his music off and called the cops on me the snakey old fucker.
