Is there any album that mixes traditional prog arrangements with some truly horrendous and disturbing imagery, i.e., not poetically disturbing like Soft Machine or some Peter Sinfield material nor edgy tryhard thrash metal bullshit but just truly, authentically upsetting stuff that makes your stomach turn? I was listening to pic related the other day and I've never been as sickened by a song as I was by Volcano, it is truly one of the most disgusting and wretched pieces of art that someone's had the cruelty to put out into the world and I feel a weird sadomasochistic desire to experience more music that's viscerally horrible like this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Veaw_c7yEPwI guess that Roger Waters is probably the closest to the one big prog musician who constantly invokes dark themes (the recording of the woman talking about murdering her kids in Three Wishes comes to mind) but compared to how raw something like Soundtracks is, most of his work seems incredibly soft in comparison. I basically just want to hear a devastating Swans-like concept album that's also very traditionally prog in a way that Swans (even if they're otherwise "proggy") isn't, and I want to hear it now, please give it to me bros.

Is Roxy Music prog?
>>127974559It's definitely proggy at least desu
>>127974308Unfortunately not. I'm only in town for a week. I grew up here and I'm back visiting. However I did hit up a record store and found some good stuff including the Glass Harp album, a bit of an investment but I thought the sentimental value alone was worth it being a local-ish band. Hence the OP.
>reading Japanese-to-English translated interviews of Magmahttp://www6.wind.ne.jp/tabockly/magma1.htm>christian vander had a really good and clean recording of the entirety of K.A. as far back as 1973>when he tried to add drums to it he accidentally deleted the entire thing>we never got a full recording of K.A. until 2004
>>127975777Interesting K.A. lore. Was only played live 3 times prior to its studio release, only recording was accidentally erased
>>127975777kek, just makes me love the album even more. i guess it also explains why it took so long to get a prequel to kohntatkohz or however the fuck you spell it
