>>127967075jazz is too discombobulating
>>127967115>I want music with two stand up bass, two trumpets, and keys>NOOOOOOO, not like that!
>>127967115maybe don't post discombobulating images?
I started listening to jazz when I was 12 and enjoyed it from time to time, then I turned 15 and it clicked and now I love it as much as rock or metal. Outside of the avant-garde stuff, I don't get why so many people bitch and moan about it being "random", are they just clueless robots?
>>127966882Black metal
>>127967148But it is randomControlled random
>>127967370It really isn't, they improvise under very strict guidelines and patterns, you're just low IQ

>>127967148It's especially strange seeing rock music fans complain about random noodling. They worship at the altar of the electric guitar and then complain about dissonance and noodling
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sj-yoDI33YM12 year olds wailing about arms asplay listening to this TOTALLY RANDOM CRAZY XD music as if they just got shitfaced off one sip of mom's wine
>>127967115Then don't post discombobulating images, you fucking retarded faggot.>>127967903Good music but not even close. Gulistan is just for solo piano and it doesn't even try to imitate other instruments that are shown in OP's pic. Pic related is more what Gulistan feels like.

>>127975935Very true.Ironically I do like Ben Monder though, he's got a great ear for voicings and does polyphonic stuff very well.

>>127976553I've been saying this a lot lately for contemporary players, guitar or otherwise, but I like him more as a sideman than as a bandleader
>>127976860I like him solo or wiht Theo Bleckmann the most. But yeah, otherwise his best stuff is with Donny McCaslin, Paul Motian, Miguel Zenon etc.
