When I was young I wanted to be a "serious" guitar player. I would play Vai, Eric Johnson, some Yngwie etc. then got into John McLoughlin, Al di Meola, Chet Atkins and others. I'd read articles in magazines with people saying how guys only play guitar to get pussy and I thought that's not what I'm about, I'm about the music maaaaan.Then a friend of mine got me some gigs with a cheesy mildly successful pop-rock act (that I had heard of but didn't know anything by, they were long past their peak when I joined) which paid well enough for me at the time. I got to travel to various different countries and play in front of a thousands every night and I got more top quality pussy than I could ever have imagined without even trying.The lesson I learned is that you should absolutely play music to get pussy, no one gives a fuck about your prog/jazz/metal whatever and if you make money from music you can play that shit on your own time with other musicians much easier than if you have to go get a real job.
