Hi guys, i don't know anything about music. I mostly listen to punk rock, hip hop, generic radio garbage, the usual. Most jazz I hear just sounds annoying, probably because im low IQ or something, but, I heard this song recently and I was wondering if someone can accurately describe the genre, and if there are other songs like it. I've listened to a few other songs by the same artist and its just not really the same.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC6H1qh-cbM
this cool
>>127971437That's jazz fusion, honestly I find it more engaging and lively than normal jazzThis band is pretty gudhttps://youtu.be/HvmGU8eTtU8
>>127971437https://youtu.be/jhDl4IDfYOgIt's between fusion and straight ahead jazz. You need to target stuff from the 70s and 80s this is when distorted electric guitar, electric keyboards, and electric bass were acceptable in even straight ahead sax solo type jazz band production. Once the 90s set in all the same players went back to 50s style traditionalists.
This is just very generic latin jazz with some rock-y drumbeats. Shit like this is a dime a dozen in Cuba and Brazil
>>127975686pretty generic in New York also except the dated production
>>127975517>listening to jazz fusion>Tourist in Paradise
>>127975750It is.
>>127975766We're referring to tourists as "it" now? Based.
>>127975517>saxophone playing pop licks = jazzCool song but what the hell does this have to do with Art Blakey or Lou Donaldson
>>127975792>>127975811>noo it's not real jizz fusion because a lot of people listen to it
>>127975517OP's song is jazz fusion (rock music with some jazz improv, often with latin influences), yours' is smooth jazz (new-age pop music with tenors or trumpets, often with RnB or funk influences), which is an offspring of jazz fusion but is ultimately a very different thing. Go listen to Allan Holdsworth and then listen to Grover Washington Jr. to hear the difference. The only thing they have in common is their atrociously misleading names.
>>127975819Can't even ask a simple question without triggering the snowflakes. Either answer the question or go back, this isn't a book club faggot
