It's actually crazy how you guys claim to be contrarians and elitists yet you listen to the most generic garbage like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, KPOP, etc. Fuck you.
>>
blah blah blah stop crying sissy
>>
>>127971453
>listen to garbage and claim it's good
sounds contrarian to me
>>
We haven't been elitists for like a decade now.
>>
man, elitism and hispterism died years ago. mu is dying because music is dying because they killed off all music genres except pop and pop rap in the name of poptimism.

anyways, how can you not tell no one here actually like shit like grande or swift , they are just fap bait
>>
>>127971453
Don't lump me in with all those normalniggers who showed up in 2015.

This board is filled women, therefore it is trash.
>>
>>127971453
Yeah. Fuck this shit board.
>>
Been on this shithole since 2018. Fucking this fucking cancer on humanity. It's all just ragebait now. Maybe I wasn't there for the golden age but people used to actually post /mu/core even amongst the waifu fagging and shilling. Better the Grimes fag over any faggot that posts I WANNA SEE OLIVIAS RODRIGO. The Shugazi thread came back but that's it man.

Kpop containment board when
>>
>>127971886
By 2018 I already considered /mu/ to be dead.
>>
>>127971453
this board is highly segregated between kpop fags, which fortunately stick to their containment threads, wpop fags which have their own general but unfortunately shit up the board with taylor swift threads, small minorities of metal/classical/jazz heads with their own general, the rest are random threads discussing rock music from the 60s to the 90s and a few /mu/tants trying to discuss current indie artists

Elitist within reason, contrarian not really. I don't TRY to do the opposite of whatever I see.
You're confusing old-school /mu/ with nu/mu/. The popfags are coomers, idolfags, and newfags who barely care about music.
>>
I listen to mostly old soul, zydeco and blues music and don’t really give a shit if it’s elite or looks good. Music impacts my mood more than anything so I just want to feel good and step

/mu/ today is mostly coomer shit, radio classic rock and kpop. There was a time in the early 10s it was indie/alternative and hip hop focused

The "patrician" era of /mu/ could have survived if they listened to metal outside of pitchforkcore, or at least took notes from how metal evolves and how metalheads behave. (elitism and gatekeeping, opposition to shallow novelties or trends, iteration instead of revolution, intra-competition, focus on melody and composition, etc.)
>>
>>127977982
...no. Metalfagging would just lead to slightly different faggotry than what we had. /mu/ should have just taken the logical conclusion and became a board about discussing classical and contemporary composers.
>>
it was different a long time ago.
>>
>>127977982
You should have grown out of meal decades ago.

/mu/ was killed when zoomers listening to shitty soundcloud rap and not lurking overran the board
>>
>>127978148
nobody talks about rap around here
>>
>>127978148
Only time I’ve seen rap discussed in the last half decade has been the Drake/Kendrick beef
>>
>>127978159
>>127978171
Yes, /mu/ was killed in the early 10s. That paved the way for the state of the board now

>/mu/ should have just taken the logical conclusion and became a board about discussing classical and contemporary composers.
It'd be an improvement, but classical music hasn't had vitality in decades, closer to a century. If any compositions from this century can shatter my impressions of classical music, share them.
I argue for metal because it combines elements of the plebeian and the patrician into a sum greater than its parts. Other genres have done and can continue to do the same.
What metal have you actually heard, btw?

>You should have grown out of meal decades ago.
The framing of very dull people who feel guilt and shame in the face of any excitement.

I cannot think of anything more dull than the intellect of a proud metalhead
>>
>>127978670
Only strengthens my point. And smart people have no compulsion to frame themselves as being the ones with "intellect", like how the strong don't need to flex what is apparent.
