I'm struggling with rythm, whenever i'm trying to play "down down up up down up" or something complicated like this I always fuck it up.

I can only play down up down up down up, whenever I try any other combinations I always mess it up and it goes randomly. What the fuck is this, it's like Pat your head and rub your stomach challenge, I can't do two difirent things at the same time, while my left arm does all the crazy shit my other arm must act like a robot

overthinking it let your subconscious do its thing, you don't consciously think about things like this you just tell yourself to do it and if you've practiced enough and correctly you do it without thinking.

Bros I was at the farmers market yesterday. Feeling juiced up. Feeling mean. Just left the gym. Did a pr on the ohp. 400lbs. Had a good pump. This twink kept looking at me. In my ty dye belly shirt and cut off shorts. My slim ear crawling. The mushrooms where kicking in and it looked like he had 4 eyes. And he asked me, "Doth thine sup of the dripping marrow". I could hear amebas ungalating. The fear felt visceral. They were coming. The men in the forest. I was able to get myself to the GC. Went to the drum room and started playing a beat... Next went to the acoustic room and picked up an ovation. Started a raga drone. The manager came up and interrupted me. The rage made the walls melt and I remembered I was on mushrooms. Felt my stomach sinking... Don't remember what happened but I woke up in a dry river bed.

Start at first fret on low e string, play 3 notes per string: 1-3-5, use index on 1st fret, middle on 3rd fret, and pinky on 5th fret. Ascend all strings in this pattern, then descend in reverse (i.e. 5-3-1). Then move up to 3rd fret and repeat. Ascend fretboard using the same pattern. Once you're comfortable stop picking each note, only pick the first one and hammer on for ascending and pull off for descending. Congrats, now you're also learning legato.

Crippling agoraphobia warming up...
>>
>>127982813
Your hand keeps the rhythm, so you need to put in ghost strokes (ex. an Upstroke that misses the strings). It’s all stylistic, of course. For a waltz, it’s down up up. You don’t have to ghost that. On the other hand, reggae and ska is uostrokes predominantly so you ghost the down and the play the up. You can play muted strings in place of the ghosting, but thatvdepends if you want silence or not
>>
>>127984230
They think your joking, but if true you are very brave. An inspiration. Often the hardest battles are in your mind. And music helps. Thing is there are so many people that interrupt your attempt at a quiet mind. They do it on purpose. It's easy to spot. I see it as attempts of violence to mental health. For instance you can post something good and they tell you it's bad. No intention of being genuine. That is a person with a head full of negativity. Teach them or, if too tired, ignore them till they go away. Either way you win.

I find single notes just sound really bad on acoustic, just have to make everything an arpeggio or a chord to sound even remotely decent

>>
>>127985680
He’s letting the amp/signal do the work. The runs seem difficult but it just looos like three notes per string filler that guitarists do when they don’t have a target note in mind. You could subtract all the 32nd triplets and this wouldn’t touch “Black Napkins”. It does sound cool as fuck, but my eyes glaze over….

Watch how he builds it, your example focuses on technique, but Zappa has control. You can hear it. Your example is as like lick a to lick b to lick c.

what do you mean by mushy? forgive me but i'm skeptical of your ability to assess the quality of your amp since you're a self-admitted beginner. maybe it's fixable without you spending money
>>

Idk how to describe it, but if u have distortion on, and play more than 1 string, it Sounds really bad and almost Shaky or tremulous

There's a yellow and black USA Legacy near me for a really good price that I have been eyeballing, but I've spent way too much money on gear over the past few months. I should probably chill out for a while.

>>127987699
idk shit about line 6 specifically but is it on a neutral preset/eq all flat and your guitar set flat?

I feel like I'm pretending to like guitars.

They were a brand that probably had the height of popularity in the 90s.
>>
>>127987783
Everything is set normal, i tried many settings and recomendations from line 6 Website itself, the guitar is set Standard, also while playing clean is also Sounds bad, if play chords it Sounds really messy, i tried it with head phones connected and it Sounds a little worse but the same Problems presist.
I dont mind spending money on new gear, im never gonna crank the shit up, so i want the Best possible Sound while playing on low volume.

post your dials
>>
>>127987876
It could very well just be broken. Take your guitar with you to demo amps in guitar center/your local store to be sure
>>
>>127987955
This didnt even cross my mind, but you might be right, thanks anyway
>>
>>127987806
He's not super well-known. The only pro musician I know of who plays his guitars is Adrian Belew.
The Parker Fly is rather well-regarded among people who've played them, though.
>>
>>127987876
yeah try the same guitar on other amps in a store. check to see if your pickups are too close to the strings. that will cause warbling. they should be at least 1/8" away from the string when you press the last fret
>>
>>127988058
>>127987821
Bah. Somehow I thought that anon was asking about Parker guitars. I'm a retard. Plz no bully.
>>
>>127987657
I think I'm getting wise to this faggot as well. Always with the "im geniunely a noob pls hlp" kinds of questions the past few threads, to drop in this obscure shithole of a guitar general when there'd be more resources out there for those kinds of people (plebbit, jewgle, your chatbot of choice). New to electric guitar but sensitive enough to find it mushy, but specially the term cranked? Intentional ESL auto correct writing? If you have the amp why not post a quick pic of how the dials are set?
It's not this particular question asker as well if he happens to be legit. There's been loads of silly bait beginner larp style questions recently, probably because those get (you)s from some people who genuinely want to help. But idk. I'm probably just cynical and everyone's anonymous but since the poster count was removed it's easier to samefag than ever.

I had a 120watt version years ago and it had some amazing clean tones, you sure your friend didn't give it to you because the speaker is busted? You have the effects knobs turned all the way off?

I have an unopened bag of potatoes. That reminds me to eat some before they get bad. Thanks anon. If it wasn't for you, I'd just see a rotten pear and never thought about potatoes.

too many pedals in general is tiresome. if your board isn’t focused and purpose-built, we don't want to see it.

Yes. Who's to say I'm particularly unhappy from pointing something out? And some people do get a hit out of internet attention or stirring the pot. There was an infamous one in tekken zaibatsu who made accounts and argued with himself just to start flame wars and bask in all the shit; same here over the years.
>>
>>127988403
Yes all the way off, honestly idk, the clean tone is better but not that great, i thought maybe its the guitar, i changed the battery, and lowered the pickup just now, and its still the same.
I have a Shop nearby, im just gonna ask if i can try out some amps.

Same here. There's a small chance that a little nugget of wisdow that doesn't take 5 minutes of a more experienced anon's time can save months or years off a green horn's musical journey. I wasn't from that era; but people were bewildered when Eruption came out and popularized tapping, same with Malmsteen and sweeping. Now with the net, all tricks are out of the bag and a talented muso in an obscure Moldavian fishing village with internet has an edge knowledge and tech wise over someone who was in the LA scene during its heyday.

He's not completely off base. A lot of people treat pedalboards like a, "this is my entire collection" showcase and have to figure out ways to shoehorn them into the signal chain.
