Which one is harder? Songwriting or writing (articles, novels, poems,...)?I feel like musicians get more credit than they should. Like, do you ever see posters of writers nowadays? Or "* writer just dropped a book". or it's just that music is more touching and more accessible?
>>127984035The fact that no one has ever successfully mastered both mediums tells me that they are probably roughly equally difficult and time-consuming.

>>127984062Morrissey did
Writing something worth reading is incredibly difficult. Writing a song that's even tolerable is just as hard
>>127985553Would you say writing a song and performing it in front of the audiece is harder, hence, more sex appeal, hence, musicians/bands get groupies anđ writers not?I am a relatively famous blogger/writer in my country and even though people recognize me, they're not hyping me up like the next musician (any one of them) :/
>>127984035That’s a point Maynard made… clearly people care a lot more about the music than the lyrics because spoken word tours get zero traction.
i'm just guessing that the difficulties of songwriting and writing per se and consumption of music and text have little to do with each other
>>127984062Cohen did.
>>127984062Homer did
>>127987843The musician image is just more sexy, even classical musicians have more mystique to them. For an author to gain that level of notoriety they need to be really next level.
