>Taylor Swift is going to be bigger than The Beatles in your lifetime
How does this make you feel?

Nothing. I literally do not care.

>in 25 years she's gonna be considered one of the most iconic and greatest music artists of all time
how does that make you feel, chuddy?

album sales were insignificant at the time, Belafonte had an album with 31 weeks at #1 selling 1 million copies
>>
Well I don't care much about either, and the biggests artist doesn't mean the best, just the most accessible. McDonalds will be remembered far longer than my favorite burger joint

there's like twice as many people on earth as there was in the 60s and they're all on the internet now
>>

any comparison of pre streaming artists to modern artists in sales numbers is completely meaningless. the beatles weren't getting a fraction of a unit sale every single time their song was played on the radio.

I couldn't give a fuck about music charts

My favorite singer has 199 monthly listeners on Spotify, idk why people care about how popular what they listen to is. Does it make sound better to you? Eddie being unpopular certainly doesn’t make him sound any worst

If she continues to outsource her songwriting to AI and churn out slop the way she's doing now, the ol legacy will be in question. That being said, grammy voters will still trip over themselves to nominate her and compromised publications like Rolling Stone will hold the line and continue to lavish praise as the general public slowly but surely catches on to the mediocrity of it all.
