>Frank Sinatra began performing "Something" live in 1971 and shortly afterwards went into the studio to record a cover version--for some years he incorrectly credited the song to Lennon-McCartney before eventually being corrected on its authorship. Harrison was not initially happy with Sinatra's cover, saying of it "I just didn't care about him. To me he was part of the generation before mine. I was much more interested in hearing James Brown or Shirley Ellis's covers of the song." He did eventually warm to the cover and by the early '90s had begun performing it live with the slightly altered lyrics from Sinatra's version.

Cool story bro
>>
Why was George a perpetual dick?

Funny how he talks about Sinatra being kinda outdated for him but he still got filtered as fuck by techno and rap. Seems like all musicians reach their "it's the kids who are wrong!" phase

Rap isn't music though.

Constantly being undermined by the people around you

Yesterday and Something were popular for washed pre-rock singers to cover.

They had a recognizable melody suitable to their styles. A lot of rock kind of rewrote the rules.

He was a frustated cuck.

Peggy Lee had the first cover version of Something out and it's also the best one, the only one I've heard that matched the original.

BLM/DEI cock sucking faggot

That whole wave of 60s and 70s artists where.
Then they went back to not giving a fuck in the 80s.
>>
>>127988166
Indeed. James Brown would butcher the song.

All he said was that he wasn't interested in Sinatra's cover, it's not like George trashed him.

The story about him writing his bio, and not even mentioning John in it at all, is way more dickish. Or when he fucked Ringo's wife.

George did have right to be lukewarm to Sinatra after all he did not even bother to find out who wrote the song before performing it.

I never super-loved Sinatra's take on Something and like I said I feel Peggy Lee had the only truly great cover of it. A lot of them don't capture the emotional range of the song well and feel like the singer is checking off a box on a list.
