What does /mu/ think about The Smile?
>>127992563It's sounds very solid, but at the end of the day wasn't much of a departure from Thom's previous fare. So I didn't really connect with it like I did with those seminal Radiohead listens many years ago. Maybe because I'm older and my brain pathways just are a bit stiffer compared to back then. For me picrel was the real standout /mu/-hype album of that year. Just felt like much more of it's own thing with heart and soul all its own, rather than a (really well written and produced) rehash of familiar aesthetics.
