I wouldn't say it's a curse, exactly, just a matter of "right place, right time". plenty of currently highly-regarded albums were flops in their own time; and we can only imagine how many more there are that never saw the light of day that would've gotten many awards and much praise had the right person been met here, or the right show was played there. we can't fully account for these things with a formula or something.

"making it big" is a bunch of bullshit anyways. just enjoy the process of making and playing music. put out some albums, play some shows, and appreciate anyone that likes your shit, even if it's just like 10 people lol. making art is not about success in the traditional sense. it's about expression
