The band had three alphas and a Ringo. Something had to give.

Cause over the years, beginning after Yesterday had become one of their biggest hits ever, Paul's ego gets out of control. He starts calling the shots more and more to the point that, by the end of the band's life, he had caused a lot of ill will between himself and the rest of The Beatles. By 1965, when they're in the studio, he's already starting to tell everyone in the band how they should play their parts, at least on what he thinks are "his" songs. This is when George starts to really turn on him. John started disagreeing with him by this point too. He always hated that Paul was the most popular Beatle, and how, in his words, he started "Trying to take over the group." But then John meets Yoko, and once he does that all of his priorities, about being in The Beatles and about being an artist with Paul, are going to start changing. He even tries to quit in 1968. Earlier that year, Ringo left the band without word for a few weeks. Eventually George will quit and come back again in '69. The fighting just doesn't stop, and in the center of it all is Paul, who is directing them more and more towards his vision of what The Beatles should be, and pushing them all further away from him in the process. Ironically, he's always claimed that everything he did was done to try and keep the group together.

In the end, the newspapers don't report on the breakup of The Beatles until Paul quits. He's still calling the shots. But if you ask him, it was all for the good of the group.

The 3 others wanted to signed with a scammy manager (who ended up scamming them + The Rolling Stones) while Paul went independent and was troubleless
>>
>>127996302
he wasn't a huge dick, the rest of the band just didn't care anymore.

John and George wanted to pursue solo careers, and Ringo wanted to do movies. Paul was the only member who wanted to keep the band together.

Fun fact: After recording Abbey Road, the rest of the band left Paul and George Martin to assemble, arrange, and produce the album. Coincidentally, Abbey Road is their best album and the one where Paul exerted the most creative control over.
>>
>>127997244
Yeah I noticed that too a massive discrepancy between Paul trying to be the selfless hero for the band and him being a control freak telling everyone what to do and getting them pissed off in the process
>>
>>127996420
She broke his balls
>>
>>127997525
The manager dispute this Anon >>127997254 is referring to is really the apex of that conflict. Paul wanted Lee Eastman to manage the band (his wife's father.) But John wanted Allen Klein to manage them because Klein had sucked up to him, and because John had (incorrectly) heard how Klein had gotten The Rolling Stones a lot of money back that the record company had been keeping hidden from them (Klein was actually the one hiding the money from them.) In the end, Klein turned out to be a scammer after all, which is what Paul thought he was, but John had successfully rallied George and Ringo against Paul's choice by that point.

What’s your thoughts on Paul having a meltdown at Ringo for delivering a message from John and George saying they’re releasing their Beatles album first before his and that his would get delayed?
>>
>>127996302
That's not him that's the other guy. Also John and Paul were secretly gay and in love, hence...
>>
beard Paul mogs all
>>
>>127998158
I don't really have many thoughts. What's yours?

Would've been interesting to see the meeting happen. Both Paul and Ringo seem to regret how it turned out. Ringo said it's one of the few times he actually saw Paul lose his cool, just screaming in anger; he must've been really bitter about how everything ended, understandably. Ringo apparently just took it too. Guess he only brought out the fists whenever Maureen was involved, cause I know he knocked George the fuck out for screwing her behind his back.

I'm pretty sure it was Klein and John specifically that didn't want Paul's solo album competing with a Beatles album on the charts. Personally I don't think they were worried about that at all though, and that it was just pettiness on part of Klein and John in an effort to control Paul a little. Because why would they care about his solo shit? George released solo shit while he was in The Beatles and nobody cared.
>>
>>127996302
He was justified in being a dick, since he was the only one who still gave a damn, but I'm pretty sure he was also doing a lot of coke around then.

In Paul's defense, he was trying to step up after Epstein died and John became more unfocused and eventually disinterested. Not gonna say Paul wasn't pushy and bossy, but no one else wanted to take the reigns.
>>
>>127997149
George was cucked, it was just Paul and john
>>

She had no business even interacting with the band at all. Just like you or I woudn't. John was a retard who broke the cardinal rule.

Yeah bringing Yoko into the office, basically, where the four of them and employees were trying to get work done, is inexcusable. Plus, John was ducking into the loo frequently for H, also not good.

True, but Epstein dies in '67 and, honestly, he was checked out by around '65 too. By then he's not making all of the decisions for the group anymore, because they don't want to tour as much; so he's resigned to working in the background, making all of their business deals for them. Brian was not a professional manager, he was a promoter, but he ended up talking his way into managing The Beatles, and they ended up becoming the biggest pop group of the sixties. But all the stress took a toll on him, and he already had issues before all that. He was a mess by the time he died, addicted to lots of drugs, drinking a lot. And his management contract with The Beatles was about to be renegotiated, and he was very paranoid that they were going to either fire him or replace him with someone else. Which I think Paul might have tried to do, if Brian had lived.
>>
>>128008003
Wouldn’t surprise me, other bands like Rolling Stones also ditched their long-time producers around 1967 as well (and they chose Allen Klein lol)

Well no that's where you're wrong. Ringo's drumming was the key to all of it.
>>
>>127996302
John had become a junkie and only cared for his newly found love. Even if he was still a creative musician, his heart just wasn't really there anymore
George was an entitled lazy bum with mood swings, who felt he deserved more voice in the band, even though he didn't bring anything other than half assed ideas and indian crap
Ringo was merely a drummer with no ambitions in writing or producing
if it wasn't for Paul, The Beatles would have ended once they'd stopped touring

half right. He was the glue that kept them friends because he never tried to push them in one direction, and he'd jsut start jamming on his drums to whatever tune the others were plunking out., When shit hit the fan, theyd always think about how they were doing this in front of ringo and souring the mood, which in a sense helped them cool off(a bit)

Ultimately Paul was more in the right here, but he should've put forward an alternative who wouldn't obviously be biased towards him.
