I was at the European tour this summer and he sounded great, the best he's sounded in at least a decade. I guess it was too good to last. Get ready for millennial James LaBrie.

My guess is a difficult set (they're still playing Unholy Confessions even though he got his first vocal injury touring for Waking the Fallen) combined with a busy touring schedule since the release of LIBAD. He also screams more live than in the recording.
Maybe it's nodules. It's hard to know.
