Anybody here remember that one shoegaze song by a newer band called like Julia or something along those lines
>>128080613>Mogs loveless
>>128094175>Juliamaybe you mean 'Julie' ? not sure which song you're thinking of though. if you go to music.YouTube or Spotify you can see their most popular songs, maybe that'd work more quickly.

>>128087089perfect shoegaze album, top of the pops, well studied and mired in the genre without being complete pastiche>>128088807yes to me it's the best shoegaze release in the modern era, there are some bands that are great like TAGABOW who are advancing the genre, but they haven't had that definitive release yet
Anyone here this yet? Was my first time giving these guys a listen and this blew me away, one of my favorite albums of the 2020's for sure.
>>128091233I mean maybe very vaguely. More like slightly dreamy indie folk
>>128094691So Slowdive weren't the first shoegaze act to dedicate a song to a certain Alison...
Still the best shoegaze album.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5158QzU8Qk8
>>128089407Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I wasn’t really sure how to start navigating that chart since I haven’t had the time to go through the majority of those albums yet. So far I’m really into Burrrrn and Slowdive, and the MBV album is growing on me fast since I love that gritty/fuzzy(?) guitar tone. Really sucks that Loveless was removed from Spotify though.I’ve also checked out most of the singles (haven’t had time for the full albums yet, but I’ll get to them soon) in this thread and have really enjoyed listening to the majority of them so far. Thanks for the song recommendations as well--really liking both of them, but the dreamy atmosphere in Shirley Temple Tidal Wave (around 3ish min) is just absolutely mesmerizing and reminds me a lot of kiss a girl In black. Thanks so much!

>>128105542Try these out of the top of my head:>The Gun Club - "The Breaking Hands" (Robin Guthrie produced)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_rEtnhp3HM>Ashrae Fax - Dreamers Tied to Chairshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbvnxMU8ids>Tamaryn - Love Fadehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anOYvY2eFlI>The Sundays - Wild Horseshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7GE90n6XX8>Hatchie - This Enchanted & Lights Onhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znUX_oKlkYohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zC8YnbTebjwAlso anything off of Spooky by Lush - produced by Robin Guthrie and they're on the same label. Other 90s contemporaries of theirs to try out: Ozean, Love Spirals Downwards, This Mortal Coil, Mazzy Star, Alison's Halo.A lot of similarities with The Cure's Disintegration too imo if you haven't listened to that before.
