The reason music sucks today is because the establishment blatantly prioritizes women and minorities over regular white dudes. You can literally scroll down the list of recent Pitchfork reviews and see this in action. Yeah there are plenty of exceptions but why should girls I've never heard of and no-name rappers get special treatment?
