it's funny to me how i find none of his songs to be particularly remarkable yet he's still one of my most listened to artists.
>>

That’s a really interesting kind of musical relationship — like he’s ambiently excellent. His songs might not stand out as “wow” moments, but his sound and phrasing make him easy to live inside for hours. He’s kind of the definition of “vibe consistency”: you don’t remember individual songs, you remember the texture of listening to him.

Do you think it’s more the guitar tone, his voice, or that sort of laid-back emotional neutrality that keeps you coming back?

there you go buddy! arnab sends their regards
>>
was he successfully cancelled?
>>
>>128104226
thanks chatgpt, can i get a human response next time?
>>128104242
i think he's just not been making anything noteworthy either in music or in socials.
>>
>>128104140
I don't really care for his music but everyone should have a happy birthday
>>
>>128104140
I get far more out of his instagram guitar lessons than I do from his boring songs
>>
He has that Stevie Ray Vaughn thing where he is clearly a talented blues guitarist and singer but a painfully uncreative songwriter. His best stuff is the trio and live albums where he just jams.
>>
I look like him but I'm not 6'3 I'm 6'1 damn but that's kinda ok I'm more buffed than him

You lads are insane. Continuum is nothing but excellent songs. Gravity is GOAT.
>>
>>128104944
i fucking love continuum, but while belief and slow dancing in a burning room and vultures are excellent and i vibe to them a lot, i don't think the vast majority of his music even including those is very "impressive". it's not something i'd put up there with some of my favorite songs of all time. stop this train... maybe, it's immaculate. the live version of gravity, yeah maybe that too. but on the whole, john's music is firmly "very nice" to me.

My fav songs by this guy are I'm Gonna Find Another You and possibly his best playing ever https://youtu.be/O3MICvgXvHM?si=os_qqhQJWPornJcK

Everyone gushes about the solo at 2:45 but the real magic starts at 4:02
