>60s boyband lore
really gay to memorize and then copy and paste this onto here. /mu/ hated this band back then too, would've been funny seeing how badly you would've gotten shit on for this thread

How far back are you talking about? /mu/ was all over the Beatles back in 2009 when Pitchfork (still relevant and influential tonthis board at the time) was handing out 10.0's to the remasters. There was this one tripfag named The Tourist who was one of /mu/'s first Scaruffi drones, and he was super vocal about hating the Beatles. I'm sure he wasn't the only Beatles hater back then, but he was far from representative of the majority of people here.

I still think his assassination was a calculated trauma to inflict upon the public for mind control purposes. Lennon was the most popular Beatle and a lot of people really looked up to him, despite his flaws. His death sealed the end of the 60s/70s hippie era and ushered in the new era of the 80s.

Mark David Chapman being obsessed with Catcher in the Rye was just another weird aspect of the whole thing. If Lennon were still alive, or at least if he had not been shot and had lived to old age, he probably would've remained a popular figure and continued to influence culture. He'd be one of the few aging rockstars who would still be interesting to listen to in interviews and podcasts. Of course, those are always the ones who get killed

Posting Queen in 2009-15 would get you laughed off the board. Posting The Beatles would get you roasted but the thread would be like a solid 50/50 of people telling you to go back to re ddit and people actually discussing The Beatles.

Yoko finally had enough bbc in New York and decided it was time to call John back from LA to settle down. The rest is history.
