Post your unpopular music opinions ITT. I’ll start>Kanye West is pop rap
The beatles are better than the rolling stones
>>128202981The Rolling Stones are better than The Beatles.
Eminem, Drake, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar are not and have never been good.
>>128202981haha OP I love froggo XD
there is no such thing as superior taste. if you believe that, you are at best misguided and at worst a pretentious faggot.
Punk was a good genre before it was highjacked and raped by tranny leftists
all music is trash
"money" is the only good pink floyd song
drake's discography is incredible.
>>128202981The Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall were woke garbage before wokeness was even a thing.
Hex is better than the 2 final Talk Talk albums
>>128203350Kendrick is good. What do you mean?
>>128202981how is that unpopular
>>128205726he means Kendrick is not good and you're wrong
>>128204705>t. angry that the Wall called him out on being hateful from a lifetime of being a shut-in loner
>>128202981Michael Jackson was mainly a singles artist. His albums are overratedSame with David bowie.Older black music highly mogs all rap music completely
>>128202981Heathen was one of the top 5 best albums Bowie ever made (yes, better than Heroes/Blackstar) and about as good as Station to Station or Low.
>>128204225kys bonehead
Blast beats aren't music, they're noise.
>>128206018thriller is 90 percent hit singles thoughbeit
I do not understand why people hate kpop, I don’t listen to it but I don’t have a venomous hate to it like some people do
>>128206296Noise is music
tons of boomer rock albums were "hit single+filler tracks"
I don't deal with opinions I only deal in facts and Punk is not a music genre it's a fashion sense same deal with Goth.
>>128210082Surely you can see they're both.
ghosts is better than thriller
>>128205997>t. brainwashed by Roger Waters
>>128206018>Michael Jackson was mainly a singles artist.Seeing as his albums were mostly his singles isn't this kind of a redundant / nonsense statement? Half of Off the Wall was singles, 7/9 tracks on Thriller were singles, and 9/11 of the tracks on Bad were singles. So by that logic you're saying two tracks on each album were bad, that's still an overall good album.
>Aside from Echoes, a fluke brilliant song, Pink Floyd is fucking terrible>Can is the best band of all time.>Oasis is amazing and not liking/getting them immediately outs you as a soiboi.>Room on Fire is better than Is This It.>Piano is a garbage awful-sounding instrument and unless the song is 11/10, any song that uses it as the primary instrument goes directly into the trash>Depressing music has zero artistic value.>Music has reached the limits of what humans can do with it. All the great songs have been written already. The next frontier of music is interpretation and improvisation. Anyone who doesn't know this by now is seriously behind the curve
>>128202981VH peaked with DLR but Van Hagar isn't as bad as people say it is
>>128210820
>>128210848based VHposter
>>128204705>The Dark Side of the Moon>Woke How? It has ONE political song on it. Three of the tracks are instrumentals. If one song is enough for you to call an album woke then that's a delusional standard.
Frog xD
Prince mogs MJ
>>128202981anyway, does anyone have a high res photo of the WAR album cover
>>128215993Yes.
>>128202981Children Of Bodom, Nevermore and Acid Bath are average at best.
>>128206018>Older black music highly mogs all rap music completelyI agree wholeheartedly. Jazz and funk are cool as shit.
>>128210813>Oasis is amazing and not liking/getting them immediately outs you as a soiboi.like this one?
>>128203350 Not controversial
There isn't a single acclaimed album that justifies the hype
>>128202981Another rap album about to enter the "top 500 greatest albums" on aoty https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/1486319-dave-the-boy-who-played-the-harp.php how long it will take until 1/4 of that list is rap ?, 1/3 ? half ?. rap is the worst cancer ever inflicted on music, AI music will be nothing in comparison, a breath of fresh air even, "hip-hopheads" are the lowest scum in the music community. Unpopular opinion : there's no need to worry about AI killing music, it's already dead.
whoever just put a picture of thom yorke, you jumpscared me with his beauty. (Additionally, radiohead is probably pretty popular till today, BECAUSE THEY GOOD AS HELL and they aren't a very "unpopular music opinion.")
>>128202981for the artist (don’t open your mouth if you aren’t an advanced instrumentalist) bluegrass is as creatively complex and indulgent as jazz
>>128216173*will anyone upload this photo
>>128216910loosen the headband on your fedora, it's cutting off the oxygen to your brain
>>128210813>>Music has reached the limits of what humans can do with it. All the great songs have been written already.agreed>>The next frontier of music is interpretation and improvisationidk what you mean with interpretation but improvisation has been already extensively covered with jazz and acts like grateful dead, allman brothers and phish
>>128202981MGMT was Sparks but for millennials
>>128221531I mean interpretation in how classical uses it. Each orchestra has their version of Beethoven's symphonies or Mozart's piano concertos. Or like how Frank Sinatra would perform "standards." Artists can cover songs and put wildly unique and original spins on them. This is practically untapped territory. And yeah I know jam bands exist, but they are nowhere near as popular as they should be, and nowhere near enough of them.
>>128202981>>128226594
>>128205997cope
>>128226711loooooooool
A lot of classic psychedelic rock was corny as hell and I'm glad it was largely overtaken by back-to-basics roots rock (The Band, CCR, Stones, etc.) within a few years
>>128203002
>>128210657Crazy how even in the most demanding part of the routine MJ's footwork still manages to mog those of his background dancers lol
>>128210813Abysmal dogshit, 1/7 good takes
>>128206018Michael was also a gay pedophile junkie who acted on his urges.
>>128224584Before the mid-60s and the rise of the "singer-songwriter," doing standards was the default. Lots of genres have them. There's jazz of course, but also bluegrass, country, folk music. I saw Willie Nelson this year and his set was at least 50% covers. So I dunno, don't really think this is the way forward as much as it's a return to the way people used to do things. Also rock cover bands tend to be corny and lame, people have too much reverence for the material so they usually just do a worse version of the original recording. >there need to be more jam bandsoh god no lol
