They seemingly make music for the love of music, and it shows. Look up their rags to riches story, pretty crazy. They also have wide music tastes, they don't just listen to and get influence from rock/metal. Sinister Gates has some good interviews about his influences. You'd never know at a glance though, since they became so big so fast and were immediately branded as mall metalcore. The coolest thing about them is that they are constantly changing their sound as they go on, sometimes it's lame, sometimes it's actually genius.
Call them what you want, but they definitely aren't sellouts
