What does /mu/ think of lofi hiphop? I know this is an ancient genre at this point and the music often sounds pretty similar, but I think its nice. Are there any standout artists?

>>128220832Nujabes, XXYYXX, and tompabeats were the go to back in 2012. Honorable mentions to Flying lotus and Wax Taylor. Also you should check out 'LMTLESS' on YouTube. There are some pretty good lofi beats on there from the Beyond the Summit melee era, smash summit 7 to be more specific. Not sure about the ultimate era. I remember liking the one with the YuYu Hakusho background and one the Bleach backgrounds. Lofi is pretty much a dead genre now though so dont expect to find much. If you were not there when it was 'in vogue' you will have a hard time finding artists. I can link you some recs if you like.

I listen to the apple music lofi playlists while i'm working. it's good background music for that but i'd never really listen to it in any other context
