>The Smiths
Try Morrissey's solo stuff if you haven't already. It's different but Bona Drag is a good collection to start with if you're making the switch. Your Arsenal is where it peaks and it recaptures some of his old crooning style.
>Ween
Mr Bungle is the same vibe to me. The avant garde genre-switching spliced with some more conventional pop elements. Try their album California.
Your taste is quite similar to mine overall. Maybe you'd like Scott Walker as well, if you're anything like me.

>fake train
Nirvana - In Utero
Sonic Youth - Sister

i really hope this is a bait thread. your music taste sucks. the music taste on this board is barely different from your average redditor or rymer
>>
>>128228495
>your music taste sucks.
Those are all good albums.
>>
>>128228495
Why are you on /mu/ if you don't like what /mu/ likes?
>>
>>128228518
sometimes i go to see what people post. havent looked at this board in years. its really sad this board got taken over by fantanocore and generic hipstery music opinions that your average college student would have.
>>
>>128228517
its all entry level slop that is overhyped by music fans who heard those albums when they were a teenager or people who never leveled up to appreciate better music

Ironically my experience with that Eva Luna album was the realization that it's fine that some things become forgotten. It has some good moments here and there but is like 50% filler. Regardless of that album I do agree that people seem especially unadventurous when it comes to exploring music nowadays, it's as if people have become too pre-disposed to whether they will like something or not before they even listen to it as they're told it's the best before even hearing it.

Vauxhall and I by Morrissey, both albums by The Housemartins, Silver Jews/Purple Mountains, Silent Alarm by Bloc Party, God Save the APBK by Atombombpocketknife
>>
>>128228550
what better music? why do you post here? /mu/ is centered around albums on picrel. you are the imposter
>>
>>128228550
What music do you like?
>>
>>128223746
Giles Corey - s/t
Low - I could live in hope
Women - Public Strain
Joy Division - Closer
Boring Bathtimes - An Otherwise Clouded Mind

pro tip look at other's people charts that have stuff you like, and listen to the albums you haven't already
>>
>>128223746
PJ Harvey - Is this desire?
Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising
Adrienne Lenker - Songs

Also, since you like Souvlaki, check out Soda Stereo - Dynamo
>>
Why do you tourists only listen to mediocre indie rock anyways? There is so much good music out there that you are missing out on because you guys just listen to indie trash. Then the soi boys will be like
>umm i recommend you check out this indie rock i like
or
>heh you are pleb who likes popular indie garbage, here is my "patrician" obscure indie garbage

People are generally unadventurous and need to listen to way more music than circlejerking the same fantanocore pitchfork music that has dominated music circles for 10 years at this point. It's fine if you like Neutral Milk Hotel but maybe people should check out the other Elephant Six groups or branch out. It's just like how people listen to ITCOTCK and never listen to the superior 80s Crimson albums.
>>
>>128235963
Ok so what do you recommend for a tourist who’s just getting into indie? Where should he go from there

Terminally online fucking RETARD. The average normalfaggot doesn't go on this website. The gatekeeping "le obscure" avant teen mentality needs to go.

Obscure =! good
Get that in your dense noggin.
>>
>>128238407
He never claimed obscure = good. His argument is losers on /mu/ listen to same 40 albums over and over again whilst thinking they are super cool and have epic music taste
>>
>>128238439
OP's chart is average and inoffensive yes. In real life however, you're dealing with people of all generations that don't give a shit about music in general and never use Rate Your Music. It's impossible to try convincing someone to listen to what you think is acceptable.

Otherwise, finding a well-adjusted woman that like the same shit in OP's chart is actually difficult, more so autistic. Majority of the time, you're dealing with pure trash.
>>
>>128238605
Were not talking about "normies" were talking about people on /mu/. Stop showing off how much of an incel cuck you are and get back to the conversation at hand
>>
>>128238683
There have not been consistent people on /mu/ that give the board any benefit. The "culture" of what was 10-15 years ago has not sustained any sense of longevity, therefore every namefag and oldfag has left given up on trying the pleb/patrician dichotomy. Why the fuck am I typing on this digital corpse? Passive listening has taken over active listening.

i dont think obscure music is better and none of the music on that chart is obscure to begin with. idgaf about normalfags and im talking on /mu/. why do you think an appeal to the lowest common denominator or what a strawman girl likes is some sort of compelling argument? you brought up trying to find a girl with similar music taste out of no where bro
>>

shit is an apt way to put both of those groups

I like how monotonous and noisy it is, I think the baselines are really good, and the hooks on songs like Valentine are very appealing to me.
