Any Latinos/as on this board?
Can we talk about Latin rock and Latin music in general?
Out of all the iterations of British and American alt-rock that get reinterpreted around the world, I honestly like the South American version way more, definitely more than the Japanese or SEA and Eastern European scenes (Russians have some cool post-punk bands th), and even more than modern North American rock. It just feels more authentic.

You know, when a working- or lower-middle-class guy or girl sings with melancholy about the struggles of life, it feels real, much more so than when some rich trust-fund kid sings about fake problems. Yeah, Musically, Latin rock bands may not always be the most original; they're not trying to reinvent the wheel, but they know how to create a vibe. I just discovered "el mató a un policía motorizado" and damn, they found a sweet spot.
For a long time, I kind of skipped over them. I know the classics, like Spinetta, but I don’t know much about the newer artists, aside from the usual YouTube recommendations.

Any good reccs?
