Well you posted Blade Runner, so I've been listening to Front Line Assembly and other stuff by Bill Leeb like Cyberaktif for this kind of work. It's my slop, is what it is. But it has a kind of moody "I'm a dog" energy but a lot of drive to it. Trent Reznor called his music formulaic and boring but Leeb has a nose-to-the-grindstone style I think.
