this album is legit bopster, why do y'all underrate it?
I don't, it's a bopster four shore
the fug is bopster?
His vocals were marmite. Great music but a limited palette. They expressed a certain mood and viewpoint well but not much more. Whether this is balanced out in their other recordings I do not know. Nor inclined either.
Mudhoney could do despair, irony, joy. I've not found this to be true with AiC.
>>128230065Staley's solo work with Mad Season showed he could do more than just metalA lot of AiC's more melodic stuff draws from country music influences, I wouldn't say they were limited in what they could expressIn fact they went a bit crazy and experimental very often. Really liked a song like Frogs off their dog album
>>128230149I was purely referring to Dirt, the album, so anyway:Oh wow Layne recorded with people other than AiC? I did not know that. And after Staley's demise? How were the later AiC albums for you?
>>128230051>two good songs>produced like shitnirvana really are the only remembered grunge band for reason
>>128230599>for reasonyeah, cus they got a baby dick in one of their album covers. pedo fucks.
>>128230051pretty good but it's rather front heavy aside from the closer desu
>>128230200>How were the later AiC albums for you?I only listened sporadically and I wasn't impressed.Cantrell is a talented guy but I think he peaked in the 90s. It happens to most
>>128230850Tbh I prefer his solo stuff over post-Layne AiC
>>128230642If you interpret that album cover as sexual, that says more about you than it does about them. I always interpreted it as a critique of capitalism. The baby jumps in the pool to chase the dollar bill on the fishing pole. It’s a commentary on how we’re conditioned from birth to chase money and profit. It’s not even that deep or symbolic. It was always pretty obvious to me.
>>128231406I'm simply jesting, anonymous poster. I never really thought about its meaning, but yours makes sense.
>>128230051They do? I think late AIC albums are underrated. This is pretty well loved.
not remotely underrated. Down in a Hole is my personal favorite but almost almost the entire thing is gold including Dirt, Sickman, Junkhead, and Hate to Feel (NEW ORLEANS GOTTA GET), I love Would? but personally think both the closer and opener (Them Bones) are semi overrated
INTO THE FLOOD AGAINSAME OLD TRIP IT WAS BAAAAAAAACK THEN
>>128230599Them BonesRain When I DieRoosterDown In A HoleWould5 good songs, but thats not saying much when theres 13 tracks and some of them are borderline unlistenable garbage.
>>128230642Everyone used to flash baby dicks around back then, dudes would carry dick photos of their newborn son in their wallets and show everyone at work it was a very normal thing to do, and nobody thought about pedos (which in hindsight is how pedos were getting away with it). It was just a thing you did as a father to show off proudly your new son
>>128232057i wouldn't call anything on there unlistenable but there's certainly a lot of repetition
>>128230599Nah, you’re just a huge turbo tranny faggot. Dirt is the best grunge album ever. Kurt wishes hr could’ve written a record as good as that.
>>128230051AAAAAAH!
>>128230051Oh, the addiction, the pain, the sufferingand a shit masterpiece by a poor junkie soul.
>>128232427they're not really comparable, two kinds of music entirely
>>128232057>>128232138YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND A USER'S MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND
>>128230850Cantrell is a genius guitarist, I don't know his sound these days but he just had something. I'm surprised he kept the AiC name going 2BH. But yeah, total respect to him.
>>128230051and thats the whole truthcertified bopster my nigga
