The Misfits were formed by Glenn Danzig in 1977. He was the sole songwriter until 1983.
Jerry and Doyle failed to establish careers in music after the Misfits, while Glenn continued with Samhain and Danzig.
By 1995, the brothers used the courts to wrestle the name from Glenn, arguing they'd financed the band, from their trust funds. They tried reshaping their Kryst The Conqueror material into the Misfits' sound, but it resulted in a parody, and got worse from there.
