Is (Don't Fear) the Reaper really about a couple's ritual murder-suicide? I've always believed it was. In fact I think it's rather obvious. "True love," my ass. It's about star-struck, infatuated young lovers killing themselves so they can be together in eternity among the planets. It's a very occult song.
Always makes me think about Watership Down, which makes me think about Disgustipated
It probably isBut if I was making a music video about it I'd make it about an old couple, the husband dies and the wife is left all alone, put in a home where she suffers until the ghost of her husband comes back for herI mean, I don't remember the lyrics explicitly saying it's about young love
>>128242891There’s a lot of Romeo and Juliet
>>128242840Interesting.
Boomp
I've never once correlated this song with suicide, though there's certainly many metaphors of dying/death.
>>128242827i thought it was about not being scared of dying
>>128245813It’s about the ending of Romeo and Juliet, one lover finds the other lover dead so kills themself and then the other one wakes up and sees the other one dead so kills themself
>>128245841Maybe, but the lyrics say, "baby, take my hand;" implying that one is talking to the other. Not possible if one is dead.
