Why didn't anyone tell me this is better than Dummy?
>>128249503the mastering on this one is so ass. the live album is better.

and third is even better than both of those
Third too depresso, OP pic has that badass james bond and cine noir vibe that makes it a tiny bit superior. Theyre all astounding, anyway.
>>128249503Cowboys is their best song.
>>128249503They all have their appeals. I personally like that Dummy goes the extra mile in making sure just about every song has a distinct aspect that belongs to that song. S/T, however, is a deeper dive into the bread and butter of their sound and is probably a heartier record for it.
>>128249503portishead ruined trip-hop by forcing the stereotype that trip-hop is chill vibes sex muzak instead of the dark leftfield hip-hop massive attack had envisioned it to be
>>128250623What about Tricky?
>>128250623That's everyone else's fault for being creatively bankrupt enough to copy Dummy, plus S/T pulls things back towards that darker atmosphere anyways. Not that Portishead had no idea about that - Geoff Barrow was literally in the room when Massive Attack was making Blue Lines.
