I have bought a vinyl released in 2024, and i have bought some old, used ones in a vinyl fair recently. There's truly no point in buying vinyl made in modern times, they are indistinguishable from the cd or listening on spotify. For old records i can listen to the diferences yes, because those albums were recorded in analogue from the start.Album from 2024 i bought in vinyl form for the 1st time: >SZA Lana SOS DeluxeAlbums i bought at the vinyl fair: >Genesis Live 1973>Paul McCartney Ram>Yes Relayer>Pink Floyd Ummagumma
>>128254843There's no point to anything really so buy whatever is making you happy
>>128254843>they are indistinguishable from the cd or listening on spotifyIf you can't tell the difference you definitely shouldn't be buying any. Assuming the same master, the vinyl always sounds much worse. The only reason to buy vinyls is when the vinyl has a better master, which does happen sometimes.>those albums were recorded in analogue from the startPretty much all modern ADCs are are transparent. A good vinyl rip sounds identical to playing the vinyl directly. Most vinyls are digitized at some point during production anyway, even if they were recorded on analogue tape.
>>128254843No. It's just collectable stuff due to the trend and popularity of an aesthetic, like labubu. Meaningless worthless trinkets for your own pleasure nobody who enters your home will care about. At the end of the day all vinyl is is a music player for a storage medium. Wanna know what else is just that? Your phone and and flac files. The REAL barrier is finding good audiophile headphones.
>>128254843Come on, OP. Tell us what equipment you're using to play the records
>>128255452what this guy saidI love my tape collection way more than my record collection. Also had most of my records damaged in a flood, which was disappointing
>>128254843Depends on what you mean by worth it.
no
>>128254843if ur a collector only that really really loves music, if ur a middle-class pleb dont worry about it just enjoy the tunes digitally.
