Anon, it literally took decades before anyone started giving a shit about Daniel Johnston, nobody outside of a small handful of people who got a hold of his tapes, either from a single McDonalds in Texas or secondhand had even heard of him until the early-mid 2000s when his work started getting uploaded to early video sharing sites like Google Video and early YouTube, and even then he was still considered an unknown curiosity that wasn't known about outside of a small group of internet nerds until the mid-late 2010s when normalfags finally discovered him just before his death.

You could also busk or play gigs and sell CDs and comics but don't give those away unless they are digital downloads.
maybe instead of a card you could give away a very small mini comic also with the QR code and links to music but honestly do not spend very much producing this, some xerox and staples b&w. When daniel Johnston was around a blank cassette was probably 50 cents or less and everyone had a player already.

I think by looking at this board you get an unrealistic view of how much of the population has physical media players. I can play CD tape or vinyl but Joe Blow and Jane Doe on the street cannot.
