Pitchfork has no standards
10 would be like a masterpiece symphony or something, maybe like I would give some Queen or Led Zeppelin Album a 10/10
But this...
Come on now...
i wasn't even gonna ever read Pitchfork, now even less.
>>
They didn't even give it best new track
Anyway
Very curious for the album. This song was obviously released as lead single as a marketing move. You know? Send some shockwaves and get people talking. Aside from the "zOMG! Classical! Art!" shock value, it has also been very divisive, particularly due to the second half of the song, which is also good for marketing.

Still, I think it's positive that a mainstream artists releases something like this. It's a cool track in itself, and it makes sense as ouverture to one of the "movements" in the album.
I for one will already be happy if it's just as good Motomami. I do expect it to be better though.
