Why are they so lazy? Why won’t they create beautiful works of art?

because they see music = dancing and nothing more

Trueeee. Anyway, let's mog:
>México
Café Tacvba - Re
>Perú
Los Jaivas - Alturas de Machu Pichu
>Colombia
Meridian Brothers - Desesperanza
>Cuba
Buena Vista Social Club - Selftitled
>España
Los Planetas - Super 8
>Puerto Rico
Daddy Yankee - Barrio fino
>Chile
Javiera Mena - Esquemas juveniles
>Argentina
Soda Stereo - Sueño Stereo
>Venezuela
Canserbero - Muerte
>República Dominicana
Juan Luis Guerra y 4.40 - Bachata rosa
And the list goes on and on. The other countries not mentioned I don't know much about, but I could give endless examples from the countries mentioned. Salsa by itself could give a 100 plus examples of 8/10 plus albums.
>>
>>128260798
Los Jaivas are Chilean and those albums are rubbish, anon.

derivative indie pop

That's their right album to pick, it didn't enter the chart by a hair. I also really like Unidad De Desplazamiento.

Then put in Perú pueblo imbecil in replacement of Los Jaivas. Btw, I'm pretty sure you have not listened to all of the albums I posted or you're just trolling / pseuding.
>derivative indie pop
Derivative of who? If anything, Javiera's album might be the best indie pop record of all time, or at least a strong contender for the title.
>sanitized cumbia for Greenpoint baristas and
Sanitized? The idea of tropicanibalismo is actually making cumbia dirtier and weirder, which they excel at. And btw, what does the "and" at the end even mean, lol? I want to see a barista dancing to Guaracha UFO, lol.
>>
>>128261007
Give your top 5 spanish speaking records RIGHT NOW!

>>128260987
In actuality, Canciones para una orquesta química is their best album by a landslide, but it's a comp, so yes, in a studio album setting their best record would be Super 8, imo.
>>
Anglos are right. The only good music we got is salsa and cumbia. We can't rock to save our lives and we certainly can't jazz or classic. Admitting it is the first step towards progress, and progress is abandoning westoid values and focus on cultivating our own identity. Who cares about what some faggots in a Mongolian basket-weaving forum think, anyway??

>>128261045
This is some latino-coon rethoric you got going on.
>The only good music we got is salsa and cumbia
You forgot about our hip-hop, rock, bossa, jazz, electronic, metal...
>We can't rock to save our lives
Latin rock is as good as anglo / japanese rock, sometimes better.
>we certainly can't jazz or classic
Well... ignorance of latin jazz is a sin, but I can forgive you for not knowing of latino classical composers like Leo Brower. Listen to some of his guitar pieces.

>>128261062
Lots of good puertorican albums in pretty much all latin genres, notoriously salsa and reggaetón. Inb4 "el reggaytón no es música".
>>
>>128261113
latin hip hop and rock is coon shit
not our culture
>>
>>128261113
>Latin jazz
All of it happened in the US. To me that's American music.
>inb4 bossa nova
fuck that shit
>>
>>128261129
Kek, so our culture is just indigenous music, I guess? Anything that comes from outside of LATAM can't be latinized?
>>
>>128261187
imagine a swedish guy being like "we swedes have a proud tradition of cumbia"
>>
>>128261187
>our culture is just indigenous music
Yes. They've been doing their own thing and doing it well. Us mestizos have an identity crisis because we don't know what the fuck we are. Hence, we have nothing relevant to say. Puerto Ricans did it well because they stuck to their African roots
>>
>>128260606
It's almost like whites are the only ones capable of making good music
>>
>>128261215
If they do it right, then it's their right to say so.
We have had latin hip hop and latin rock since the start of those genres, and have had classics in both genres, so why should we say it's not ours when there is a clear sonic distinction between anglo rock and latin rock? That's like saying "imagine an anglo speaking of anglo cinema when cinema was created by Melies back in the 1890s France!". Culture is both global and local, simple as.
>>
>>128261246
>We have had latin hip hop and latin rock since the start of those genres
if this is your proof >>128260798 then you're hopeless
>>
>>128261260
I have studied the history of the genres. There were even latinos embedded in the genesis of hip hop in late 70s NYC. I even have LPs from 50s latin rock bands, so I can tell you first hand that latinos were there since the beginning. And that's without taking into account the fact that Los Saicos literally created punk rock in Perú, lol. You're just trolling, anyway.
>>
>>128261303
my bad i meant to quote the part about having classics. idgaf if there were chicanos in rap in the 70s. the history of latin hip hop is putrid.
>>
>>128261342
>the history of latin hip hop is putrid
I disagree. Canserbero by itself is one of the best rap artists of all time.
>>
>>128261352
Cringe
>>
>>128261352
Canserbero does not rap. He preaches.
>>
>>128261457
I don't know if that's good or bad, haha, I just know his songs are really good on all levels and his lyrics are DEEP. I've shown some spaniard girls his later songs like Mundo de piedra and they all have become fans.
>>
>>128261505
He's lyrically good but it takes a bit more to be a good rapper. Bejo is a good rapper imo and also lyrically deep.

Southamericano here, idk desu, I don't listen to spanish music, mainly cuz the lyrics in most of em are just shit: le ass, le tits, le fuck all night, le barrio blah blah blah, even non normie music is just muh girl, muh land, muh car.
>inb4 that's the lyrics of most songs ever made
Yeah but I can block that out ezly in languages that are not mine and when I put the effort in understanding them they just sound nicer, exotic and all that, except portuguese and pajeety, what an earape.

that's plenty and I would also add reggaeton ofc (sue me). desu salsa is goated and doesn't get enough love as the best we can offer. as a side note I don't like cumbia but I have only listened to two bands
