I think it’s worth mentioning that every Public Enemy fan I’ve ever met has abused me.
Another important point: Public Enemy follows in the MF DOOM tradition of being a rap entity that tries to frame itself as villainous and subversive, but exclusively preaches against consensus-approved issues like anti-black racism, technology and mind control. This isn’t really a new idea, but it’s important that these guys really only make their music so they can make money, do drugs and do sex-fiend stuff, so they can openly invoke black supremacist attitudes, be racist towards whites (men, mostly), dodge any responsibility on the unspoken grounds of “lol, it’s just my fetish”, and still have a legacy and be hugely popular.
