For example, if you mostly check out albums on RYM that are bolded, then it's likely your rating distribution with have a higher mean, than if you were to check out albums randomly. There are commonalities in what people find good, so even though you may disagree on a lot of albums with the consensus, that simple reality should still be reflected in a skewed distribution. But I don't think they'd ban you for having a skewed rating distribution. They might ban you if you e.g. rate everything 5/5 or 0.5/5.
