What does /mu/ think of them
>>128273310Mogged by Uriah Heep
>>128273310based for inventing babby’s first guitar riff
>>128273454Not even close, bro, and I really like UH, even Uriah Heep themselves admitted not being as good as Purple, Sabbath and Zeppelin.I like Purple, I believe they could have maybe realised so much more material if mk II had stayed together, I mean, they were tired by who do we think we are, but I believe there still had a lot to come, burn was though, but by that time Ritchie was thinking about rainbow already, wasn't he?
>>128273677Pleb. Sabbath sucks btw.
>>128273310Mark II is one of the best rock acts ever and was insanely talented. They basically laid the groundwork for speed metal and neoclassical metal. They have some good stuff outside of that but Mark II was their peak. Pic related is just as good as any Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath album.
10/10 if you don't like them you're a pleb.
>>128273310Ritchie > Jimmy/JimiIan Paice > Bonham/Moon
>>128273310Boring dadrock
>>128273310better than Led Zeppelin
>>128273310amazing that they are actually still around
>>128273855Holy trvke
They make interesting music. I prefer Whitesnake
>>128273884I'm trans btw!
>>128274232*steals your song*
>>128273310For me, I stop at Machine Head and follow with Rainbow's discography.
>Blackmore and his waifu's cheesy folk bandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8sNqxSFidw>>128274516You're missinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM7hsVXLAfY>>128274408>WhitesnakeCoverdale was great with Deep Purple btw, see above>>128273719You're absolutely right for the most part, but>just as good as any Led Zeppelin albumI think led zep belongs to a lower tier
All I think of was when I was in the car waiting for my dad to get out of the liquor store on our way to a campground when I put Machine Head on and blasted Highway Star
I would argue that Blackmore ended up being a more influential guitarist than Page or Iommi.
>>128273855>>128273719>>128274818>>128275642>One decent album with a couple of hits compared to Zeppelin that is literally one of 10 or so bands in the entire world who don't have a bad track in ALL the albums, 90% of which have literally no fillers. It's not even a competition. But what is objectively true is that Blackmore was seething like a bitch because he was playing in a corporate industry plant collective with replaceable musicians who were writing for the top gas station hits...Unlike Zeppelin of who's Jimmy casual collected the best talents in the industry, immediately developed chemistry and played and wrote out of artistic passion.Again, not even a competition.. the sweeth of Blackmore is real.
>>128275976>who don't have a bad track in ALL the albumshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOLTwt-bqoU
I really love the Mark Era I albums. Very psychedelic than anything they did after and they did it great. The Hey Joe cover mogs Hendrix's version but is largely forgotten.
If you combine In Rock and Machine Head with the first three Rainbow albums you'd get a band with comparable reputation to Zeppelin and SabbathBurn is one of the best rock songs of all time, ut the album itself is mid, aside from Mistreated and Sail AwayPurpendicular is also a good album
>>128273310my favorite trackhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqxkfhmWfjQ
>>128273310>>128273454>>128273719both Deep Purple and Uriah Heep mogged themselves with In Rock and Look at Yourself. the rest of their albums don't come anywhere near. it was the only time they ever touched the level of Zeppelin and Sabbath
>>128280833>both Deep Purple and Uriah Heep mogged themselves with In Rock and Look at Yourself. Those same songs could be better live. So they mogged themselves too. And Jimmy or Iommi couldn't even come close to them live. Just like Beatles or Stones never came close to the Who live.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CHSH2Oq5w0
>>128276150plebs expose themselves hard when they call Hot Dog a bad song, its objectively well made. The true sole bad song from Zeppelin is Hats off for Roy Harper
>>128276226Jon Lord looking swag as fuck there.
What are some other hard rock bands that use an organ? Jon Lord made their sound in my opinion.
>>128283238Wolfmother
>>128274818>burnI love that song!
>>128276150>Silly whimseys >"Le bad"What they have is couple of "not so strong" songs>Ozone baby>Darlene>Dyer maker>I'm gonna crawlMost of which are product of the rotten era they were in, rotten position that the band was in or just hit or mis experiments. All of these songs would've been the greatest hit in any other avarage joe band, but because their discography is so strong it's not about picking a good song it's about finding "bad" ones.
>>128286447>>Dyer makerThis is a good song though.
>>128274232only tryhards say that.
>>128286461lol
>>128273719None of their studio albums compare to the live stuff.
>>128282205I'LL NEVER GO TO TEXAS ANYMORE
>>128274359Anything after Jon Lord left is phony DP. He was the bedrock of their sound through every lineup from the very beginning, even more than Blackmore.
>>128273310I prefer Dope Purple
>>128283238this aint hard rock per se....but it sure as hell aint soft. Gregg wasnt as good as JL on the keys but his organ def was integral their sound.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWSoo3bLhIcThe Mule has keyboardshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0dSUsJ0YOc
