megadeth fans say dave isn't good at singing, but they love it anywayhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOnKCcjP8Qswhat makes you like somebody's singing?
>>128281220if it fits the vibe of the music. someone like freddy mercury is obviously eons better, but would have ruined a song like thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QkNP1jxrEwI also like how Dave sounds like he's gritting his teeth in anger while he's singing (snarling)
>>128281220Just picture Dave and Chuck Schuldiner in your head as goblins and it's kind of based. Metal went for a lot of brutal roaring, but these guys tread a path few are brave enough to go on.
>>128281241I dislike "vibe", but yes the vocals (as any part) should serve the intended message. Some styles don't work smashed together, or at least take skill to make work. Michael Kiske can hit higher notes than Kai Hansen, but even the best Keeper songs sound goofier than anything on Walls of Jericho because of Michael's muppet vocals.>Dave sounds like he's gritting his teeth in anger while he's singingI'm sad I never thought of that
What do people think of Dio's version of Paranoid? He gives it a different vibehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVgkRizZ4fY
>>128283130Yeah completely different, but it's still cool in its own way. Some singers like Dio can't fuck up anything technically. They just put their stamp on it.
Sometimes I listen to covers of songs, and the singer sounds good technically, but it just doesn't match the song...
The songs are good. Having a good voice is not mandatory when the music is authentic.
