would've liked the band better if Zach didn't sound like an angry 15 year old boy
>>
>>128299648
Beyond >>128299669 they were never that great to being with. Even at the time they were considered mallcore numetal. They have some good songs I will admit but overall if you want politically charged left wing sloganeering music there's wayyy better punk and hip-hop groups with more intelligent lyrics and heavier sounding music
>>
>>128299707
For left wing political there’s Billy Bragg

>FUCK THE MACHINE!
>COME SEE US LIVE ONLY $150 A TICKET!!

I'm confused
>>
>capitalism bad!
>government bad!
>TAKE THE GOVERNMENT MANDATED (UNTESTED) MRNA VAXXINE IF YOU WANNA COME SEE US AT CAPITOL ONE ARENA FOR $300+ PER TICKET
disingenuous retards. de la rocha's mom is glowie-adjacent as well.
>>
>>128299648
adequate tunes which sound even better when you go through that edgelord phase
one of those bands whose best of compilation CD is far better than any individual album
>>
>>128299958
>fuck big corporations and the government!!!!
>wait, cartoonishly evil pharmaceutical corporations are teaming up with the government to hand out ineffective vaccines?
>GET THE JAB CHUD
>>
What the hell is the singer talking about when he says "they rally 'round the family with a pocket full of shells"
>>
Not metal.
>>
>>128299648
Aside from the inherent contradicting of being a commercial band that's "against the system", music mixed with politics generally ages poorly.
>>
>>128299648
I don't like bands who are very clearly trying to be heavy and aggressive, but their brand of heavy and aggressive isn't particularly heavy or aggressive. I can tolerate brain-dead populist lyrics, but I don't like brain-dead populist lyrics that take themselves as profound by spouting "I'm a 14yo socialist and this is deep" political analysis. So I don't like this album much. But that's okay, it's clearly not for everybody.
>>
>>128299648
Commies whining over the microphone is not music.
>>
>>128299669
They never said that.

>>128299648
I fucking hate them, their music, their political beliefs, and their very essence as people, I hope they die soon along with all their fans, and that I'd never have to hear their bland mallmetal punkfunk bullshit music ever again, plastic clown band fronted by a chinless nerd, I've seen better and more coherent rants on schizoid YouTube accounts

Cochise is a pretty cool riff, that's tom morello right?

listened to this record back to back today while doing housework. Still one of (if not the best) debut records from any band period. Who cares if they sold out, they still sound tight
>>
>>128306763

what strikes me musically is that it’s pretty timeless, I guess because they avoided all the songwriting and production cliches of the era, one of the tracks says something like “as we move into ‘92…” and it’s jarring to think of it being recorded that early.

It’s about going on beachside vacation with your family. He’s talking about seashells
>>
>>128310979
I think it’s better, it’s more intricate less bare bones, more interesting on repeat listens
>>
Super fucking gay and cringe boomer shit. Cornball mfers
>>
>>128299648
Bit juvenile like all nu-metal, but some pretty solid grooves and the occasional interesting guitar sound.
>>
>>128306607
Audioslave is literally RATM with a different singer, so yes.
>>
teen angst: the band
>>
i physically cringe when i hear them. they suck
>>
>>128299648
They seem to really trigger /mu/

Therefore, they are based
