every thrift store has at least one copy
>>128309170I got my copy from a thrift store lol

>>128309170This is not Kenny Rogers Greatest Hits. I don't understand how every thrift store doesn't have Thriller or Dark Side of the Moon. They sold millions upon millions of copies, there should be more copies of those than like the Hair soundtrack or Barbara Streislop.
>>128309550people keep those or sell them on ebay/discogs since they are in demand. if they do get donated to a thrift store they get sold very quickly or if it's like the thrift stores in my area, one of the volunteers takes it for themselves.
>>128309550Thriller and DSOTM were not shallow novelties and have multi-generational appeal. People actually want to keep them and pass them on to their kids.
I have 3 copies and they all have slightly different covers.
>>128309612The first pressings have "Constipated Bach"
Theres a record store nearby that everytime i go it throws me into deep depression. The records are all extra mint, most are new, shiny and glossy, all japanese editions, but you begin inspecting them , and theyre all literal who slop: some trash called "panache", paul simon, chicago, bunch of no names that wanted to be the next cindy lauper, some shit like picrel. I can never buy anything, despite they must sound flawless and cheap as hell, theyre all unbuyable.
>>128309550They did in the 90s but eventually people realized records were still worth money. That was the peak time to be collecting vinyl and now it's over.
>>128309662Weird choice for cover, setup is all there but looks uncomposed, looks mid action, and its classical?
Who the fuck is james chance and who is mantovani??
boomers die, their kids rummage through their shit, keep the good stuff then donate the junk.
>>128309688That one's worth buying for a cum tribute.
so much bad 60s AC so little time
>>128309777Most of the junk left over at thrift stores isn't even from boomers it's the parents of boomers. Stores like the salvation army will leave the same dead titles on the shelf for years while they sell a few boomer rock albums they pepper in once a month or something.
>>128309692Tell me about it. I got a zipper copy of Sticky Fingers for $3 in 2000.
>>128309501>>128309527He's man, what are you babbling about fags
>>128309662Always preferred this one
For me it's psychedelic astrological synth-rock exotica
>>128309495>that tranny folk does b sillyIndeed, getting their panties in a twist over a phylosophical song.https://youtu.be/pn2cGRKnMKc?si=CozF-rIQDtxfLFvS

>>128313027Sing Along With Mitch and Mahavishnu Orchestra albums.
>>128313027Those records nobody wants were owned by people who died decades ago. The greatest generation/silent generation.
>>128313027He means bad 50s-60s AC/Muzak like all those Herb Alpert albums.
>>128309170OP here, wrong pic
I actually never see LPs for mainstream/housewife pop people even, just Muzak and Christmas bullshit.
>>128315091Literally never seen one in the wild. I think the meme made it popular again and everyone bought up the used copies.
>>128315110Usually it’s the lowest of the low tier housewife pop, the stuff that nobody was sentimentally attached to. Though I did actually find (and buy) a Sinatra album one time. Guess someone’s kid wasn’t into torch songs.
>>128315110True. Luckily I love that shit, so I can go to a record store and like like 6 or 7 albums for, like, 30 bucks.
>>128315110>I actually never see LPs for mainstream/housewife pop people evenIn the 50s anyway those were more singles artists so you would be more likely to see them in the 45 bin.
i prefer the cd section
And no I've never found a Sinatra album at Goodwill nor any jazz album.
>>128315358In my town, it's picrel, Ani DiFranco, and Goo Goo Dolls
>>128315358Honestly some good stuff, especially the Sinatra. It’s a shame most people will ever know Chumbawamba from that album. Both the early Punk stuff and the later Folk stuff completely jog the 90s dance shit.
>>128315132I see Whipped Cream often, not every single time but all the time. I have 2 copies. One thrift store near me has it right now. There is always at least one Herb Alpert album in every dollar bin and thrift shop with more than like 100 records. These are my two favorites:https://youtu.be/pvQMyVoefNIhttps://youtu.be/ZB5zykm8Dv0
>>128315358lel I just got that Bonnie Raitt cd at Salvation Army. Let's Giv em Somethin to Talk About...
>>128315326>>128315110I think I once saw that Patti Page rock-and-roll covers album from '62 which is quite funny for how bad it is and how she clearly does not care for the material.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oov9TtG6OMUHere we go. This is hilarious especially her sarcastic "Yeeeahhhs"s. Beating Sinatra's rendition of "Downtown" for "let's just get this shit over with, i need a drink."
>>128315132College kids still find it and hang it on the wall.
