This is a new format I like it
>>
I just don't get how a person would consider a best album by a band not their favorite one.

OP messed up a bit with the template so heres a more polished version

I think R.E.M's best album is Automatic For The People but I like Murmur more in idea

What's the difference between liking an album and considering it good?
>>
>>128317978
I don't think these things have "rules" if you don't want to do the favorite album part you can skip it I guess. I found it fun so I did it but I don't think OP will mind

I was just curious about what "good" meant to OP or most people that dig his concept. It's kinda philosophical. To me, "good" can generally mean what gives me pleasure (but it's an arbitrary definition as any definition for the good, in my opinion). And "to like" to me it's to consider good.

I agree with that but what you like the most doesn't mean that's what you think is the best. I enjoy Murmur more then I enjoy Automatic for the people but Murmur is a great jangle pop album while Automatic for the people is the best R.E.M album

>I agree
You mean, agree with the part that to like is to consider good, right? Then how is it possible that "what you like the most doesn't mean that's what you think is the best"? Seems like a simple conclusion to me.
But I think understood what you mean by
>I enjoy Murmur more then I enjoy Automatic for the people but Murmur is a great jangle pop album while Automatic for the people is the best R.E.M album
You meant that you derive more pleasure from Murmur than from Automatic, but out of only the R.E.M. albums, Automatic is the one that you derive more pleasure from. Is that it?

It depends if you believe that music serves a purpose beyond pleasure.

To clarify, 808's isnt a bad album it's just not my preference. Would have put Cuck/WW3/In a perfect world, in favorite album if it was finished but since we still don't even know the official title I didn't add it.

How can you choose Green as the worst REM album when Around the Sun exists.
Green is pretty good, better than any post-AFTP album.

>green their worst album
Bruh, not even slightest.

I liked Around the Sun. Green is Micheal Stipe at his worst sounding
