Criminally underrated

This album does kind of straight up suck but I like bits and pieces of it.
>>
>2000 light years from home
>Citadel
>She's a rainbow
Great songs, everything else sucks, so it's basically like every Stones album in that regard

2000 light years from home sounds extremely corny to me, it's a naive attempt at psychedelic/noise space rock in my opinion. Maybe it's just me but the Stones never came across as an earnest band in any of their sonic experimentation even though they accidentally stumbled into interesting songs here and there

sounds like a (you) problem

None of those are the album's best song, In Another Land

Citadel riff goes fucking hard
>>

it's a decent album, some great classic Stones songs with the rest being filler mostly, but still a bit enjoyable
wouldn't call it a 'yikes' really

>Rip off the cover of Sgt. Peppers
>Decades later people still say the music rips it off even though it goes for a completely different sound
>People judge it based on that association and often make it apparent they've never even tried to listen to it
People are LITERALLY judging this album by its cover, it's actually quite neat. It's odd for a Rolling Stones album yes, but they were clearly going down this path for a while if you follow their 60s output.

Goes hard

It's not a Beatles ripoff, it's clearly a Velvet Underground ripoff, which is worse
