Will AI music overtake all other genres?
>>
>>128329857
It'll overtake current pop, which is what most music streams are. So it's about as good as doing so.

Anyway, pretty transparent demoralisation thread.
>>
I say yes, not as anyone who is pro AI, there is just too much money to be made by eliminating the human element. But i predicted when AI first came out that there would be a backlash that led to some sort of romanticism for humanity, lots of art tagged "human made", as if it were more authentic.
But ultimately the machine will win. And people will be able to customize a sound at the push of a button. And if people want to see it performed live, maybe there might be hologram concerts like gorrliaz and miku. Or maybe the DJ will rule over all, pressing a button and putting on a light show for ravers to drug out to.

I wonder most of all how this will effect society, black people in particular have speclized in making music, and now its just gone?

there will be a backlash but most people who arent artists dont give a fuck, they just want instant gratification

wouldn't it be nice if 4chan was run by people who didn't hate its user base?
>>
Anyone who isn't using AI tools to make music right now is going to get left behind within the next 5 years. This goes for all forms of creative output. It's simply natural selection. There will be mountains of shitty AI music being pumped out, just like there always has been every time music became more accessible to make, but there are those who will use it as a tool to do things with music that were never possible before and will reach creative heights that we haven't even conceived of yet. Hating AI is going to be as stupid as people in the 90s saying CGI wasn't real art and the only real movies were traditional film and hand drawn animation.
>>
>>128329901
Black music isn't about the music, rap and hip hop only got popular because they were selling a culture and lifestyle that people have rightfully now realized they were brainwashed into thinking had any value or meaning in the real world.
>>
>>128329857
It's pretty funny how the people on this board that are cheering on AI are the same ones crying about how there's no innovation in music anymore. 0 consistency in their beliefs.
>>
>>128329922
The thing about AI is how you use it. if you tell it to just make you an art, thats stupid. if you make art then feed it to the ai for improvements thats interesting, thats human combined with robot
>>
Anyone who's paying foreign ESLs to astroturf forums is going to get left behind by marketing firms that were wise enough to invest in AI. It's simply natural selection.
>>
>>128329946
It's no different than a producer using a DAW. If using AI isn't art, then anyone who has ever used digital tools in any capacity falls into the same category.
>>
>>128329922
Okay faggot nigger.
>>
>>128329942
if this were the 90s i would be on the art side. but we live in a poptamist hell scape where you are only allowed to eat shit like mumble trap and pop sluts imitating Madonna for the 10000th time.

its sad, but i dont care at this point, death to pop music

At this point, who cares?

Maybe one day you kids will get a job and have to use ai and see first hand how unbelievably shit it is.
It’s not going to take over anything, it’s a tech gimmick only that absolutely cannot actually reliably produce usable results for business. Sure it will spit out 100,000 shit songs by merging other songs together but majority of them will have multiple things fucked in them and need massive human intervention to the point it’s just cheaper and easier to use a human.
>>
Joe rotan’s demented ass has now mentioned this awful AI song maybe 8 times.

Some of the weakest shit of all time.

AI can do a Drake song that'll be better than any Drake song.
So really it can easily replace any hiphop 'artist' without anyone even suspecting
>>
>>128329922
>Hating AI is going to be as stupid as people in the 90s saying CGI wasn't real art and the only real movies were traditional film and hand drawn animation.
did cgi really get us better movies tho
>>
>>128329952
Yes it is different.
>>
>>128330459
He loves that fucking Many Men cover. He’s never heard blues in his life if he thinks that’s soulful
>>
>>128329922
did chatgpt with its head start graduate past flooding the world with middling sloppa at inhuman speed yet
it'd be ideal for ai music to generate something actually new and for humans unimaginable, expanding the artistic repertoire alongside human music, but really its progress seems to be just measured by how well it can shovel out simulacra of human musicianship
>>
>>128333147
>did cgi really get us better movies tho
yes, but it's a flawed comparison since only a minority of movies use it
>>
>>128330459
This is dreadful lmao. AI isn't taking off shit
>>
>>128329942
4cucks don't believe in anything other than for contrarianism. That's their entire ethos
>>
>>128335301
That statement is neither true nor interesting.
>>
>>128329857
I haven't listened to a song made in the past 20 years so I don't give a shit
>>
>>128329857

No. When anyone can generate a hit song with the push of a button, no one can.

Scarcity principle, people value works the scarcer they are. People connect over this and build community around it. Just imagine if billions of people could generate new songs with Jimi Hendrix or Jim Morrison personas the entire value of corpus goes down the drain.

Think of it like when people could sell CDs of torrented stuff before everyone got phones and just streamed. Even if you created creative playlists no one cared or valued it cause they can just do it on their phone for free
>>
>>128329952
This pretty much it’s an automated producer, like a driverless car you tell it the destination
>>
>>128335530
Also this. It’s like how Cher got that hit with the autotune now everyone uses it there’s no novelty and it’s boring and most importantly not artistic

yeah yeah yeah we're heard this already. Left behind this left behind that. It's pretty tiresome hearing this exact same fucking post over and over for last 4 or so years. Get new material.
>>
>>128330045
This sounds like fucking dogshit
>>
>listening to hoe rogan
The quote's even talking about "ai covers", which are just having an aislop voice "covering" the vocal track so you can pretend Chester Bennington was still alive and sang the new LP album. It's not even remotely the same thing as purely aislop-generated music.

>>128329922
Right on queue, the aislop shartup owner generating fake hype over garbage tech in hopes someone will give him funding the milisecond any discussion about ai occurs.
>>
>>128329857
If you just want sounds that tickle your brain in a certain way, wouldn't it be better to just produce those specific sounds, instead of LARPing as music?
>>
https://youtu.be/DUIo20nsBEQ
Fucking kek Rogan is a colossal mong
>>
>>128330045
It's impressive that it's possible, but once you get past the novelty, the music itself it pretty monotonous.
>>
>>128335106
CGI has made Hollywood blockbuster movies blander and lazier than ever. AI will have the same effect on music and film.

>>
>>128335106
>only a minority of movies use it
lol what? pretty much every movie coming out today uses it, you just can't tell. most movies are 100% shot on sound stages now. filming on location is too much money for the poor studios.
>>

7/10, almost made me rage.

wouldn't this thread be better suited to /biz/

joe rogan is literally a retarded monkey. those are the kinds of people who find AI music amazing

>>
Why do the majority of /mu/ posters seemingly hate music now?
>>
>>128337636
the answer is the same source for most of the maladies on this site: we've been overrun with election tourists that want to talk about politics 24/7
>>
>>128337636
Slop is more addictive than music discussion
>>
>>128329922
you don't make music, opinion discarded

People who actually like stuff all turned into video essay loving pansy faggots.

This isn't a thread about hating music. If anything, it's pro-music and pro-musician
>>
>>128329857
>Will AI music overtake all other genres?
You can't copyright AI music so no, probably not, you'd have to be pretty stupid to want to make an entire business and career off of shit other people can just steal from you
