RIP

i've actually met him a couple of times, he was always in the same bars around belo horizonte. once we were both drunk and spent a few minutes talking about how he an his buddies felt about tropicália, he told me at the time they thought it was great that there was finally some "beatlemaniac music" going on but eventually he realized they were their own thing, as great as the Beatles. very nice man. apparently he would go around amateur football games in the Belo Horizonte sprawl and just watch these literal who players, then if there was any type of post-game celebration or team confraternization he'd just hang around and play a few songs if there was a guitar available.
>>

another nice thing he said is that when Abbey Road dropped, Milton was living in Rio de Janeiro while most of CDE were still in Minas Gerais, and a common theme amongst everyone was that they couldn't wait to show it to Milton when he came home
>>
RIP Lô. An unique voice in Brazilian music.

>>128340418
He always looked to me like a really approachable individual. Good to you that you had opportunity to meet him personally.
>>
>>128340638
I've met him and Beto Guedes and both were very nice, I also have friends who played with Brant, Gismonti, and from what I gather, they're all just jolly boomers looking for someone to talk about the Fab Four or some obscure bossa nova session musician. I don't know how to explain it to you if you're not a brazilian but they're all average mineiros.

also, if there's any metalheads itt, here's some belo horizonte lore for ya: the distance between the Clube da Esquina corner and the square where Sepultura was founded is like 3 or 4 blocks
