The bands were apart of some wanna be LLN inner circle I believe Witchaven was apart of. Anywho there was alot of church/graveyard desecration when I was in highschool w/ the local metal scene. The two funnest parties of my life was a death metal party wherein old school death metal was blasting and a jock party because jocks usually came from well off families so there was a ton of chicks and liquor. We would always call the thrash metal bands rich kid punk because they had nice equipment and long hair, the opposite of the punk bands in the area who had to actually work.
