One of the few albums I couldn't finish in one sitting

every song is twice the length it needed to be, aside from maybe frantic and the title track
in order for something to be funny (even unintentionally) it should not overstay its welcome

It's their best post-80s album. For all the absurdity and questionable artistic direction, it's at least an interesting experiment. That said, I can definitely see how this would be one of the last things Metallica fans would want to hear in 2003 of all years.
