Did a Smiths fan really hold a Denver radio station hostage in 1987? There's even a movie inspired by this story called Shoplifters of the World, but I haven't been able to find any real articles confirming it. So did it actually happen, or is it just a made-up urban legend?

I vaguely remember something about this.

Do you need help searching the interwebs?

OP sucks dick at googling, must be a zoomer. I just looked up the movie and scrolled down to the references section on wikipedia. Consider this a failed IQ test, OP
